Yerington NV – May 4, 2026
On May 4th, 2026 from 6 to 7 PM, Yerington NV Main Street Committee and the Walker Basin Conservancy pulled back the curtain on a stunning new mural on the side of the Yerington Chamber of Commerce building. More than 40 feet wide and 10 feet tall, this piece weaves together the historical elements of Mason Valley, all connected by the Walker River.
Community members in attendance met the artists, and were able to step into the interactive elements out front, and snap a photo worth sharing. Yerington’s Mural is a beautiful new addition to Travel Nevada’s Free Range Art Highway.
From Blank Wall to Local Landmark: Yerington Celebrates New Public Art
Scott Draper, President of the Yerington NV Main Street Committee, was the master of ceremonies for the unveiling of the Yerington, Harvest Capital of the Copper Hills 3D Mural.

Scott introduced the other Yerington NV Main Street Committee members present: “Anna Draper, Debbie Draper Douglas, Jerry Bryant, Darci Beaton, Bonnie Bryan Bobrick, Brice Boland, Joan Sciarani Blake and Executive Director Melanie Young Pinkerton; Also present in the crowd were several volunteers who work at each of the Main Street beautification projects that the Committee sponsors weekly.”

Scott continued, “From Yerington’s history of rich mining to its deep agricultural roots, our tribal legacies, and at the center of it all, the Walker River: From Cattle Kingdom to Onion Capital, to Wovoka, now deeply represented as the Harvest Capital of the Copper Hills.
“We’ve turned a blank space into a landmark reminding every passerby that Yerington is a place of resilience, connection and deep-seated pride. This mural stands as a reminder that while we are always looking forward, we carry the strength of our history with every step of the way.”

Harvest Capital in Color: The Story Behind Yerington’s New 3D Mural
From Brice Esplin with Walker River Conservancy: “We are honored to be a part of this project as a Conservancy along with the Yerington NV Main Street Committee and the Travel Nevada 3D, and many more…We’re really excited to share this with you all. Art is so important to human culture and to connecting people, drawing people in and giving people a reason to stop, interact with the city and enjoy this wonderful place…The mural brings so many elements that make not only Yerington great, not only Mason Valley great, but Nevada as a whole combining the balance of the mining, Wilson Canyon, and the Walker River itself. I directly thank Scott (Draper) and Melanie (Young-Pinkerton) for their phenomenal work on this.”

Scott Draper recognized, “Brice Boland (yes, there are 2 Brices involved) who is with the Yerington NV Main Street Committee but was also with Walker Basin Conservancy. Brice is the one who wrote this grant from Travel Nevada 3D (of which the Mural is a part of). Amy Guinan, Brice Esplin and some others are with us from the Walker Basin Conservancy. We couldn’t have done this without you guys, Thank you!”
Scott continued: “We want to thank Courtney Bloomer of Travel Nevada, Governor’s Office of Economic Development, the Pratcher & Hardesty Family (who own the Yerington Chamber Building and allow us to do what we do with it!), the Yerington Chamber and especially Melanie (Young-Pinkerton), Lester Hepfler, and our two especially talented artists right here: Roni Stanton and Stephanie Pellegrini…Thank you to our landscape crew: Gavin Draper & (unintelligible); City Manager Jerry Bryant, Yerington Public Works, the Chico Family of Desert Engineering, K7 Construction, Nevada Onion, Matt Galvin Sr., Steve & Debbie Douglas, Marianne M., Carrie Gilmore & Halls Honey. It took a lot of people to make this happen, and we’re really proud of this.
