On Friday, April 17, 2026, Candus Hernandez lost her life in an auto collusion near Wabuska, Nevada. Her boyfriend, Chris Wallace, formerly of Yerington, Nevada, survived.
A gofundme account has been established: “Candus’s mother Teresa Hernandez is asking for help to put her little girl to rest. She needs help getting to Nevada to take care of what needs to be done as well.”

Update- 4/17/26 5:50 p.m.: US95A is now open.
4/17/2026 1:07 p.m.: The Nevada Highway Patrol is currently investigating a fatal crash on US95A near Lyon County mile marker 23.
This is located between the railroad crossing in Wabuska, NV and Sierra Way.
US95A is currently closed in both directions at this location.
Closure and delays are expected for several hours.
Please avoid the area.
