Yerington NV – January 7, 2026
Nick Beaton announced his candidacy for re-election for Yerington City Council.
From Nick:
“The last seven months on the council have been eye opening in lots of great ways. We as a city are truly starting to move in the right direction, with amazing people filling positions they weren’t in seven months ago, a council that works directly with citizens to row the boat in the same direction, and so many engaged people in our community all trying to make it a better place to live and visit.
“In my short time on the council, I’ve come to chair the Public Works Committee, and am a member of the Economic Development and Negotiations Committees. I’ve helped work through new city codes regarding food trucks in the area and have taken an active role in the beginning steps of a unified look to our downtown area. I’ve met regularly with multiple businesses and employers looking to move in or re-engage with the area, ensuring we can all address potential impacts together, and working to make sure Yerington is not only ready for new families, but is a place people want to live. Finally, I’ve been open and engaged with the public, hearing concerns, informing where I know and asking questions where I don’t, and always making sure that we do what’s best for our town.
“Anyone who knows me know I’m a worker, not a bystander or delegator. Whether it’s serving as president of Yerington Theatre for the Arts, being an original and engaged member of the Yerington NV Main Street Committee, taking a lead organizing our annual Small Town Christmas, umpiring with Walker River Little League, being the voice of multiple sports at Yerington High School, teaching a class of video editing, and of course my job Boys & Girls Clubs of Mason Valley that means so much to me: Everything I do, I do to better the places we live, visit, and spend time together. The same 1000% goes for my role on city council.”
“I hope I’ve earned your support since I moved back to our great town in 2020. And, if I haven’t yet, I look forward to showing you with my actions, not words, why I’m worthy of it.”
