Free Document Shredding Event in Dayton on Saturday, December 6

Dayton NV – December 6, 2025

Dayton, Nevada – There will be a free paper shredding service for the public on Saturday, December 6 from 2pm-4pm to help residents securely dispose of their sensitive documents.

Wendy Madson, director of  Healthy Communities Coalition (HCC) explained that the free service is a special thank you to the community from HCC, its Dayton Food Pantry and its garden center and gift shop, Community Roots.

“This beautiful community has given so much in so many ways,” she said, adding that “our hearts overflow with the immense generosity and the love that has been shared so selflessly.”

During the month of November 2025 alone, individuals and community groups, clubs, schools and businesses donated more than $11,000 to HCC’s food pantries in Dayton, Silver Springs and Yerington.

From November 1 to November 30, groups and individuals donated 8,600 pounds of food to HCC’s food pantry in Dayton.

The free shredding event takes place in the parking lot of HCC’s Community Roots and Dayton Food Pantry at 209 Dayton Valley Road.

Participants are asked to please limit the number of legal size boxes of paper to one or two per household.

Donations of canned food to help local families this holiday season are welcomed during the event.
