LYON COUNTY, Nev. (KOLO) – Lyon County Commissioners have selected Blayne Osborn to potentially fill an Assembly seat vacated recently by Ken Gray.
Osborn previously ran for Assembly District 39 in 2022 but lost in the primaries.
He is currently the President of the Nevada Rural Hospital Partners and has been involved in every legislative session since 2009,
Osborn will be considered for final appointment at a joint meeting of the Lyon County and Douglas County Commissioners on Nov. 6.
The appointment is needed since Governor Joe Lombardo announced he plans to call a Special Session of the Legislature.

Douglas County Commissioner Danny Tarkanian reported that the Douglas County Board of Commissioners, “voted unanimously to approve Blayne Osborn to fill the vacancy of Assembly District 39,” at their October 16, 2025 meeting.

Also on October 16, 2025, the Lyon County Commissioners selected Lyon County’s nominee, Blayne Osborn to fill the seat recently vacated by Ken Gray for Nevada Assembly District 39 pursuant to the process outlined in NRS 218A.260. The nominee was selected from the list of qualified candidates that was submitted by Assembly Minority Leader Gregory T. Hafen, II. Blayne Osborn will be considered for final appointment at a joint meeting of the Lyon County Commissioners and the Douglas County Commissioners on November 6, 2025.
