Yerington had already won 16 in a row and they went ahead and made it 17 on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Battle Mountain Longhorns with a sharp 3-0 victory. That’s the second time they’ve managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 back in September.
The 3-0 score doesn’t show just how dominant Yerington was: they took every set by at least 13 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-6, 25-6.
Yerington’s win bumped their record up to 17-3. As for Battle Mountain, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-10.

October 19, 2025 – Yerington hasn’t had much luck against Dayton recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Dust Devils at 5:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Yerington came into their game two weeks ago off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 8-5 to Whittell.
Meanwhile, Dayton faced Whittell in a battle between two of the state’s top teams on Saturday. The Dust Devils put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 6-3 win. Dayton might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by three goals or more this season.
They hit Whittell with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Fiona Keith (3), Samantha Jimenez (2), and Tayla Lundeen.
The victory was the fifth in a row for Dayton, bringing their record up to 13-1-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 32 goals over those five contests. As for Yerington, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.
