On Saturday, October 11, 2023, Yerington/Mason Valley Fire Protection District (MVFPD) was with Yerington NV Police Department, Nevada State Fire Marshall, Yerington NV Main Street Committee, Yerington Chamber of Commerce, Battle Born Medevac, City of Yerington, Nevada State Police, City of Yerington Public Works.
Yerington Chamber of Commerce reported: “Fire Safety Day Was a Huge Success!
“What an incredible turnout for Fire Safety Day, thank you to everyone who came out and made it such a memorable event!
“Local fire organizations showed up in force, putting on live fire training demos that gave the public a firsthand look at the skill and dedication it takes to keep our communities safe. A huge thank you to the State Fire Marshal, who brought their live fire training props, giving area firefighters the chance to sharpen their skills in a safe, controlled environment.
“Battle Born Medevac wowed the crowd with a landing right on Main Street, bringing in Medevac 1 and Air 12 an unforgettable experience!
“The event was accompanied an amazing performance by the Ubuntu Pipes and Drums, who filled the air with the powerful sound of bagpipes and drums setting the tone for a truly special day.
“Big shoutout to the Yerington High School football team for grilling up delicious hot dogs and hamburgers, with generous donations from Peri & Sons and Hudbay.
“And most importantly, a heartfelt thank you to the Yerington Mason Valley Fire Protection District for hosting this incredible event and for all their hard work in making Fire Safety Day such a success. Your dedication and leadership brought the whole community together for a day of learning, fun, and appreciation.
