Members from Yerington’s Chapter Naomi #16 of the Order of the Eastern Star recently attended the Nevada Grand Chapter Session at the Atlantis Casino Spa in Reno, NV on October 5-8, 2025. The Naomi Chapter is active locally throughout the year donating coats, hats, gloves and other clothing to Yerington schools, participating in the Sheriff’s backpack drive, providing delicious hot chocolate to crowds of onlookers at the Yerington Christmas Lights Parade, and more.

Regarding the Nevada Grand Chapter Session last week, well-known Yeringtonite Jay Dini shared:

Introducing “Our new Worthy Grand Matron of the Grand Chapter of the Eastern Star State of Nevada Sherry Williams !”

Jay’s daughter Heather Dini was named Grand Esther of the Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star State of Nevada.

And here are Kathy Dini and Jim Hoff opening the Tuesday morning Session of the Grand Chapter of Nevada.

Nevada Grand Chapter Mission Statement:

The Order of the Eastern Star is a fraternal organization of women and men committed to providing an environment of friendship and fellowship through its charitable acts, support of its membership, and involvement within the community. The Grand Chapter of Nevada supports each local Chapter in this commitment.

The Nevada Grand Chapter has 14 Chapters located throughout the State of Nevada. We have a total membership of over 1,900.

Eastern Star is a unique organization with many qualities you won’t find anywhere else – beautiful ceremonies, meaningful lessons that focus on moral values, and the friendship of like-minded Sisters and Brothers.

Our objective is to promote and practice Charity, Truth and Loving Kindness. As a social Order, we are dedicated to fraternal service to humanity. We are involved in this service at local levels as well as at state and national levels. Eastern Star offers many opportunities to make new friends, practice leadership skills and to participate in our charities. We support each other, as family members, through good times and bad.

Charities

Millions of dollars are raised annually within its membership for numerous projects which benefit mankind. Many national and local charities are among the projects supported by its members. Through this fraternal service to humanity, its members strive to build a better, more fulfilling way of life for all.

The Grand Chapter of Nevada Eastern Star supports many other charities including regeneration medicine research at Wake Forest University, Heart Fund, Shrine Hospitals, Knights Templar Eye Foundation, Service Dogs, Nevada Military Alliance, domestic violence shelters, homeless shelters, food banks, youth scholarships and many other relevant charities.
