Healthy Communities Coalition of Lyon and Storey Counties next breakfast meeting takes place Thursday, October 9, 2025 at the Silver Springs Community Center at 2945 Fort Churchill Street, Silver Springs, Nevada 89429 from 9am to 11am.
The public meeting includes presentations on two different topics by guest speakers. Speakers will give overviews of managed care group SilverSummit Healthplan, and EMPOWERED, a program now available in our region that supports pregnant and postpartum women who use or have used opioids or stimulants for any reason. The program is designed to empower individuals to be prepared for the birth of their babies, and to thrive as caregivers.
In addition to breakfast and guest presentations, the Coalition’s bi-monthly meetings include updates and announcements from Coalition staff, community members and those from local, state, federal and tribal groups who are in attendance.
Healthy Communities Coalition is comprised of local, state, federal and tribal group partners, community volunteers, and a board of directors and staff all working together on a common goal to strengthen communities in the Lyon and Storey regions. The Coalition strives to promote and support sustainable, inclusive prevention services, community initiatives, and capacity building systems that address all components of a healthy community.
