This District VI Trustee Vacancy for the Lyon County School Board is for 2025 through 2026. In 2026, candidates will apply during the regular voting session for 2027. The applicants must be adults who live in District VI, but do not need to be registered voters. Please read the extensive information provided below. The Lyon County School District Board of Trustees will invite interested members of District 6 in Dayton, NV to apply for the vacant Trustee seat. In accordance with Nevada Revised Statutes  386.270, the Board will publicize the vacancy once each week for 2 weeks.

The deadline to apply will be 8 am, Friday, October 17, 2025.

To apply, individuals must submit a letter of intent and a resume, each being no longer than 2 pages and which address the following questions:

1. Why are you interested in serving on the LCSD Board of Trustees?
2. What experience, interests, training, or other skills do you feel you would bring to the LCSD Board of Trustees?
3. What is the role of an LCSD Trustee? 
4. Include name, physical address, phone number, email address.

Submit letters of interest no later than 8 am, Friday, October 17, 2025.

• To determine if you are eligible, you must be a resident in District 6 as shown on the Lyon County Voters Precinct Map
• Employees of LCSD cannot serve on the board while employed by the District.

By applying for this position, all applicants acknowledge and waive the legal notice provisions of NRS 241.033 and NRS 241.034.  Applicants consent to their names being placed on the October 28, 2025 public agenda, and if selected for an interview, they consent to their character and competence being considered during this meeting under NRS 241.030.

Interviews of chosen applicants will take place at Sutro Elementary School, 190 Dayton Village Pkwy in Dayton NV 89403, 6:30 pm, on October 28, 2025.
