Shawn Clanton appointed Chief of Police for the City of Yerington

At the regularly scheduled City Council meeting on September 22, 2025, Yerington City Council voted to appoint Shawn Clanton as the Chief of Police for the Yerington Police Department.

Clanton was one of five applicants for the open position and was unanimously recommended for appointment by the Public Safety Committee.

The City of Yerington would like to extend a warm welcome to Chief Clanton.
