Lyon County, NV — The Lyon County School District (LCSD) is off to an exciting start as students, staff, and families return for the 2025–26 school year. The district is celebrating a smooth first week, made possible by the dedication and preparation of teachers, staff, and administrators working together to ensure a positive beginning for all students.
LCSD Superintendent Tim Logan shared his enthusiasm for the year ahead:
“Our entire team has been focused on ensuring a smooth and successful start to the year. Our teachers and staff have been engaged in professional development, our buildings and classrooms are ready, and safety procedures are in place to support both learning and well-being. We are excited to partner with families and the community to provide our students with the best opportunities to grow, learn, and succeed. This is always an energizing time of year, and we look forward to a strong start together.”
— Tim Logan, LCSD Superintendent
Joining the district this year, Deputy Superintendent Dr. Griffin-Copper expressed excitement about becoming part of the LCSD community and shared her passion for the school year ahead:
“What an exciting time of year for our students and families, and for me as a newcomer to the Lyon County School District community! Early fall is my favorite time of year with the daily buzz of school buses driving our streets, student traffic to and from school with their backpacks and school supplies, Friday night football games, and the cooler temperatures. I am excited! We have so much to look forward to this school year, and we are committed to a positive experience for the 25-26 school year! Welcome back LCSD!!”
— Dr. Stacey Griffin-Copper, LCSD Deputy Superintendent
The first week of school has been filled with energy, excitement, and anticipation as students settle into their routines, reconnect with friends, and begin exploring new opportunities for growth and learning. LCSD continues to focus on creating a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for all students while strengthening partnerships with families and the community.
