Obituary for Tommy Earl Joyner, Jr.: October 19, 1952 – June 22, 2025

In Loving Memory of Tommy Earl Joyner Jr. Tommy Earl Joyner Jr., 72, of Reno, Nevada, entered eternal rest on June 22, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Tommy was a man of unwavering faith who lived a life grounded in love, service, and craftsmanship.

Born on October 19, 1952, in Yerington, Nevada, to Tom and Nora Joyner. Tommy grew up with a deep sense of devotion to God and family. He married the love of his life, Wendy, on January 26, 1974. Together, they shared 51 beautiful years of marriage and raised three sons-Joshua, Caleb, and Tommy-who were the pride and joy of his life.

Tommy was known for his exceptional skill as a master craftsman. Whether he was designing fine cabinetry or restoring old axes, his meticulous work reflected not only his gifted hands but also his passion for excellence and creativity, He found joy in building things with care and purpose, just as he did in nurturing his family and community.

More than anything, Tommy lived for his faith. He kept God at the center of all he did, modeling integrity, humility, and love in every season of life. He was a faithful member of Sierra Bible Church in Reno and led by quiet example, inspiring those around him to walk in the light of Christ. His legacy is one of devotion-to his Savior, to his wife, to his children and grandchildren, and to the work of his hands.

Tommy is survived by his beloved wife Wendy; his sons Joshua, Caleb, and Tommy; five cherished grandchildren; two brothers; and four sisters. He leaves behind a legacy of grace, craftsmanship, and steadfast faith that will be treasured by all who knew him.

A celebration of Tommy’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on July 7, 2025, at Damascus Road Christian Assembly, 974 Tillman Ln, Gardnerville, Nevada. He will be laid to rest at Valley View Cemetery in Yerington.

Tommy walked faithfully throughout his life and ran his earthly race with purpose. We find comfort knowing he is now forever at peace in the loving arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ.
