City of Yerington Requests Water Users to Conserve

The City Needs Your Help to Conserve Water!

The City of Yerington and Lyon County Emergency Management want to remind you to conserve water this summer. We still have a well under construction that won’t be delivering drinking water until late summer, and we need to work together to get through this summer without a water system failure. How do we do that? Easy! Just use less water everyday. The first place to start is outside, minimizing the watering of lawns and landscaping. Check for leaks around the house, and water landscaping during cool hours. We are working to reduce park watering as much as possible at the City and with your help we can keep the system running smoothly!

If you see a leak at a City park or facility, please call City Hall at 775-463-3511 and let us know!

La Ciudad de Yerington y el Departamento de Gestión de Emergencias del Condado de Lyon quieren recordarles que conserven agua este verano. Aún tenemos un pozo en construcción que no suministrará agua potable hasta finales del verano, y necesitamos trabajar juntos para que este verano no haya fallas en el sistema de agua. ¿Cómo lo logramos? ¡Fácil! Simplemente use menos agua cada día. El primer paso es en el exterior, minimizando el riego del césped y las áreas verdes. Revise si hay fugas alrededor de la casa y riegue las áreas verdes durante las horas frescas. Estamos trabajando para reducir el riego de los parques de la Ciudad tanto como sea posible y, con su ayuda, ¡podemos mantener el sistema funcionando sin problemas!
