Walker River Little League: Dodgers Come Up Short Against Juniors Yankees on April 17, 2025

Dodgers fell to Juniors Yankees 6-3 on Thursday.

A ground out by Jaxon Enochson put Juniors Yankees on the board in the top of the first.

Brent Brinkley singled to the left side of the infield on the sixth pitch of the at-bat, which helped Dodgers tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.

A single by Isaiah Nunez gave Dodgers the lead, 2-1, in the bottom of the fourth.

Juniors Yankees flipped the game on its head in the top of the sixth, scoring five runs on two hits to take the lead, 6-2. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Erick Juarez that drove in two.

Nunez started on the hill for Dodgers. The hurler gave up three hits and one run over five innings, striking out five and walking one. Ruben Jimenez stepped on the bump first for Juniors Yankees. The pitcher surrendered four hits and two runs (one earned) over five innings, striking out nine and walking three.

Nunez went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Nunez, Behr Quintero, Jace Martinez, and Brinkley each collected one hit for Dodgers. Quintero stole two bases.

Jimenez and Juarez were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Juniors Yankees while hitting back-to-back. Juarez went 2-for-3 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Kayden Studley led Juniors Yankees with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, piling up six walks for the game. Juniors Yankees turned one double play in the game.
