Walker River Little League: Cardinals Fight Back In Loss To White Sox on April 17, 2025

Despite a 6-run deficit in the fourth inning, Cardinals almost came all the way back, eventually falling 9-7 to White Sox on Thursday. Cardinals closed the gap by scoring on a walk, a walk, a walk, and a double.
White Sox were the first to get on the board in the first when Julian J doubled, scoring one run.
White Sox committed an error, which helped Cardinals tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.
In the top of the second, White Sox broke up the tie when a steal of home scored one run. Then a passed ball followed to extend the lead to 3-1.
Cardinals scored one run in the bottom of the second on an inside the park home run by Gary H.
White Sox scored five runs on two hits in the top of the fourth inning. Julian tripled, scoring two runs, Emma N singled, scoring one run, Raiden P drew a walk, scoring one run, and Sawyer T drew a walk, scoring one run.
Jaxson H earned the win for White Sox. The righty surrendered one hit and four runs over one inning, striking out three and walking three. Derrick G took the loss for Cardinals. The reliever went one inning, surrendering two runs (one earned) on zero hits, striking out three and walking five. Damian F stepped on the mound first for Cardinals. The pitcher gave up two hits and three runs (two earned) over two innings, striking out six and walking two. Julian stepped on the hill first for White Sox. The pitcher allowed one hit and three runs (one earned) over four innings, striking out 12 and walking three.
Uriah M led Cardinals with two runs batted in. The catcher went 1-for-2 on the day. Uriah and Gary each collected one hit for Cardinals. Damian M paced Cardinals with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, accumulating six walks for the game. Damian and Uhlias M each stole multiple bases for Cardinals.
Julian drove the middle of the lineup, leading White Sox with two runs batted in. The pitcher went 2-for-2 on the day. White Sox had a strong eye at the plate, piling up nine walks for the game. Jaxson and Tekoa C led the team with two walks each. Jaxson, Gabriel V, Evan G, and Tekoa each stole multiple bases for White Sox. White Sox ran wild on the base paths, collecting 13 stolen bases for the game.
Cardinals play at home on Saturday against Fernley’s minors in their next game.
