7th AND 8th Grade Tigers Teams at YIS: Sagebrush Champions!

Y.I.S. Athletic Director Angela Sciarani reported:

The Yerington Intermediate School volleyball teams competed in the Sagebrush League Championship this Friday against Dayton, Silverland, and Fallon. 

Both 7th and 8th grade faced some tough games. 7th grade played their first game against Fallon defeating them in two to move on to the championship game against Silverland (6-0). The Tigers led the way in the championship game beating them in two games to be the league champions. Our 7th grade team also was voted to receive the sportsmanship award for this season. 

While our 8th grade Tigers (6-0) started the day off playing Dayton in a roaring battle, they advanced to the championship to also play against Silverland in the championship game. The Tigers defeated Silverland in three games to be two time Sagebrush champions (winning both in seventh and eighth.) 

It has been so fun to watch these girls work hard and improve all season.

A big thank you to our wonderful community for all the support throughout the season. We have the best and most supportive fans around.
