William “Bill” Gilmore Lacey passed away on Monday, November 11, 2024 at the South Lyon Medical Center. He was 63.
William was born in San Manuel, Arizona on November 20, 1960, the son of David and Sharon Lacey. He moved to Yerington, Nevada in 1968. Bill was a very hard working man and his first job was at the Savin’ Sams Gas Station. Then he went to work for his Dad setting up trailers. After that he worked for many business including for Don & Joy Tibbals, Boyles Brothers, Airmetco, Ford Garage, Chisum Concrete and Desert Hills Dairy. He had also started his own business as a Mobile Mechanic for 15 years.
Bill ran in the demolition derby for many years and enjoyed all the fun and hard work he put into it. He loved being in his shop and enjoyed teaching his kids and grandkids all about mechanics and working on his Chevy and Dodge.
Bill also enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and going on long adventures with his family and friends with an ice chest full of beer. He loved creating many happy memories. We will miss his smile, laugh, his stories and most of all his hugs.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Linda; his daughters, Sabrina Vargas, Samantha Guerrero and Billie Lacey; his only son-in-law, Clemente Guerro; his grandchildren, Sofia, William, Matthew, Anabello, Brandon and Jonathan. Great granddaughter, Jaylen and a future great grandbaby; also by his brothers, John and Mike. He was preceded in death by his parents, nephew Russell Lacey and father-in-law James Dunlap
Because Bill enjoyed the outdoors the family will plan a Celebration of his Life service when the weather warms up. Family and friends are invited to sign his online guest book at www.FRFH.net.
