Message of the Week 10/18/2024
When I left for Las Vegas on Sunday, it still felt like summer in Northern Nevada. When I returned on Thursday night, I saw fall had arrived while I was gone. I attended the annual Nevada Sheriff’s and Chiefs conference. The conference provides opportunities for training, networking, and previewing the latest law enforcement technology.
Warm weather is coming to an end, and historically, that has led to a reduction in calls for service to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office. Our average response times through September remained steady and within an acceptable range. Deputies continue to respond to calls for service promptly and safely.
With fall weather also comes Nevada Day, Halloween, and Trunk or Treats. Trunk or Treats begins this week; below is a schedule of Trunk or Treats that the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office is participating in.
Tailgaters Yerington 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM
We are thankful for the invites to these great community events, and we look forward to interacting with the youth of our communities in a fun and positive environment!
