Lyon County Clerk Treasurer Releases Information Regarding Nevada Secretary of State Voter Registration Update Mailing
Yerington, Nevada – Lyon County Clerk Treasurer Staci Lindberg wants to let Lyon County Voters know that the Nevada Secretary of State mailing regarding updating your voter registration does not require any action by voters in Lyon County.
All registered voters of Lyon County have, or will be receiving their new registration cards as a result of the State of Nevada’s new top-down Voter Registration & Election Management System.
The State implemented a program and offered to mail a signature update form to all voters in each county to allow the voter to update their signatures. Lyon County opted out of this process because the form required voters to include private information on a postcard and the County Clerk did not want to compromise private voter information in that manner. Carson City also opted out of this signature verification process.
The print company did not include the signature update form in the post card because Lyon County opted out of the process, however, the printer mistakenly included the instruction form regardless. Clerk-Treasurer Lindberg recognizes that this may cause confusion for voters. Please keep your voter registration cards for your records. Please disregard any signature verification instructions received in the Secretary of State mailing.
Voters may contact the Lyon County Clerk’s Office at (775) 463-6501 or the Secretary of State’s Office (775) 684-5708 if you need further information or have additional concerns.
