NIDUA MARK LANDIS MILLER, a beloved son, brother and uncle, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at his home in Schurz, Nevada on the Walker River Paiute Reservation at the age of 53 years.
Mark was born to Irwin Landis Miller and Karen Tom Miller on November 26, 1970, in the old Bureau of Indian Affairs Hospital in Schurz, Nevada on Thanksgiving morning. Mark was a member of the Walker River Paiute Tribe, he was a farmer, surveyor, enjoyed music, reading poetry and was an artistic drawer using pencil as his favorite medium. He looked after his mother and the community and was always there if someone needed help.
Mark is survived by his mother, Karen. His sisters: Kelly Miller Estep and Raynell Miller. Nieces: Hattie Maiou Emm, Bindee Wahgnee Crutcher, Heidi Celestine Emm. Nephews: Jesse Hank Landis Ponca and EeDua Bodie Miller. Great-Neices: Amaree Maiou Savage and Nina Mariella Hernandez; and Great-Nephews: Zayne Lewis Savage, Hayes Lewis Savage and Ian Thomas Hernandez. Mark was preceded in death by his father Irwin and his uncle Harold Pah-Tenu-Gwa Miller.
The Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 16, 2024, from 10:30AM to 11AM at the Schurz Tribal Gymnasium on the Walker River Paiute Reservation in Schurz, NV with Funeral Services at 11AM. Burial to follow at the Schurz Indian Cemetery.
