Paul Maresca Passed Away at His Home in Yerington on August 23rd, 2023

Paul Maresca went to heaven to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning, August 23, 2023 at his home in Yerington, Nevada after a very brave and courageous battle with multiple sclerosis. He was 65.

Paul was born in New Jersey and lived there until he was 14 years old, when his family moved to California. He graduated from Ventura High School where he began his passion for acquiring classic cars and fixing them up. A 57′ Chevy, a Chevy Camaro and a first year Ford Mustang were among the most prized. He relocated to Livermore, California in his early 30’s and also furthered his automotive college education while working in the industry. He even delivered a very popular automotive sales magazine in the Bay Area each week. He was also so proud to obtain city approval for his automotive mobile repair service. Later, he moved to Yerington with his Pleasanton family.

Paul was kind, gentle, and so very strong. He loved to laugh and loved life. He was always a great friend with an infectious smile and warm nature. He enjoyed classic music from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. Especially the Beatles. Monty Python comedy was a favorite and Saturday Night Live. He loved the car shows, air shows and barbequing on the weekends. He had a very caring heart for animals and was a great furry dad. He rescued four wonderful pets over the years. Three cats and one dog.

He was caring and giving and always unselfishly thinking of doing things to improve the lives of others, not on the difficulties that took more and more of his own energy. He was so brave in facing his MS and diligently fighting the pain and the many challenges he constantly endured and struggled with having this disease. Each day was never ending in his dedicated persistence searching to find help. He was very grateful to his doctors, and many others that helped with his care. He also greatly appreciated the many who helped him keep his home he loved so much, functional for him as his disease progressed.

He is preceded in death by his parents. His father Anthony in 2007, his mother Josephine in 2021, and his second mom Jean in 2013. He is survived by an older sister Rose and brother Mark as well as a younger brother, James and his children, Paul’s niece Melissa and nephew, David. Also, his long time second family, Christie and Graham and his close friends throughout his life.

God saw you getting tired, when a cure was not to be.
So he wrapped his arms around you and he whispered, “come to me”.
You didn’t deserve what you went through, so He gave you needed rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful, He only takes the best.
Frances and Colleen Coelho

“May the Lord be with you forever and keep you safe in his arms.”
