The summer ended and fall began in September. While we remain extremely busy throughout Lyon County, our response times have remained steady since restructuring the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office. I am attaching our response times, which include through September.

October brings a multitude of trunk or treats, in which the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office is participating. Numerous Trunk or Treats are available for the youth and community. This message of the week will highlight those events.

  • Dayton Trunk or Treat: October 20th @ 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM Location: Dayton Library.
  • Cottonwood Elementary Trunk or Treat: October 25th @ 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Location: Cottonwood Elementary (Fernley).
  • Fernley Boys and Girls Club Trunk or Treat: October 26th @ 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Location: 396 Highway 95A, Fernley.
  • Yerington Trunk or Treat: October 26th @ 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM PM. Location: Yerington Boys and Girls Club.
  • City of Yerington Trunk or Treat: October 26th @ 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM Location: City of Yerington, City Hall.
  • Fernley Radio Trunk or Treat: October 26th @ 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM PM Location: Fernley Radio Station.
  • Silver Springs Trunk or Treat: October 29th @ 5:00 PM – 9:30 PM PM. Location: Silver Springs Airport.
  • Stagecoach Trunk or Treat: October 30th @ 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM PM. Location: Stagecoach Community Center.
  • Fernley Spooktacular Trunk or Treat: October 31st @ 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM PM. Location: Fernley City Hall.
  • Smith Valley Youth Foundation Trunk or Treat: October 31st @ 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM PM. Location: Fire Station 40.

If we are missing a trunk or treat event please message the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office directly via Facebook and we can add the trunk or treat event.

These events offer a safe place to take your children and enjoy Halloween! The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office is stocking up on candy and looking forward to seeing the community dressed up and having fun! I am also attaching a tip sheet of how to be safe on Halloween.
