Submitted by Melvin PurselPeninnah “Penny” Delia Farias Martines passed away on November 1, 2022.
She was born on December 14, 1929, in Yerington to Ruth Batchelder Farias and Manuel Farias.
Penny had two brothers, Harold and Donald.
She grew up on the family ranch and attended Yerington schools, graduating in June 1948.
She married Donald Joseph Martines on July 11, 1948. They had 8 children, Harold, Donna Kay, Joanne, Donald Jr., Martin Charles, John, Joseph, and Benjamin.
They and their spouses blessed Penny with over 50 grandchildren, including great and great-great grandchildren.
Don and Penny were married for 65 years when Don passed away in 2014.
She will be dearly missed.
