Evelyn Lucile Mollart Thompson ~ Born October 7, 1930, Passed September 11, 2022 : She was 91 years, 11 months, and 4 days old when her spirit left this earth.

Evelyn was the fourth child born to Hilda Highfill Mollart and Warren Watson Mollart. She was born at the homestead in Yerington,  Nevada (where the Weed Heights subdivision is currently located).

Beginning in 1933, Evelyn, along with her parents and siblings, moved to the family farm on Manha Lane. When she started at nearby Meissner Grammar School, she enjoyed riding her horse, Willows. Later, she attended Yerington High School.

Evelyn met Clifford Thompson Jr. when her father hired him to cut wood. They married on February 2, 1950, in Yerington NV.  During the summer months between 1950 and 1953, they lived in Sierra City, California cutting timber blocks for Thompson Shingle and Lumber Mill. The remainder of the time, they lived in Yerington in a home just across the road from the Ranch on Manha Lane where Clifford worked cutting firewood and Evelyn was a homemaker. They moved to the Manha Lane property in 1954 to help with the family farm (where her mother, Hilda, still resided).

Evelyn and Clifford raised eight children: Joan Eilene, Lou Ellen, Jon Edward, June Coleen, Susan Christine, Marguerite (Maggie) Darley, Dolly Lucile, and Linda Lee. Evelyn had 23 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and 13 great- great- grandchildren.

Being a farmer’s wife, Evelyn always had bummer lambs and calves by her wood stove in the winter. She enjoyed visiting her friends, reading westerns, watching kittens play, and watching soap operas and westerns on TV.

She lived a full life. She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Ethel and Harriett, and her two brothers, George and Ben, along with her grandson, Steven Oliver. She passed at her home surrounded by her husband and her daughters, Susan and Maggie.

Services to be held at the Yerington Community United Methodist Church on October 1, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. reception following at the Methodist Spangler Hall.
