Henry Rogers died in his home in Yerington on Sunday, May 22, 2022 with family by his side after a prolonged illness.  He was 88.

Henry was born in Vallejo, California on February 23, 1934 the son of Julius and Florence Rogers.

Hank served in the US Navy for 22 years of active duty and 8 years of reserve. He served during the Vietnam War, where he received special accommodation for his efforts. He retired from active duty as an Electronic Technician Senior Chief (ETCS – E8).

Hank began working several jobs as an electronics technician after the US Navy. Then he spent over 15 years working for Chevron Research in multiple positions regarding electrical design. He also worked as a volunteer firefighter for the Pinole Valley Fire Department and received his bachelor’s degree in business administration.  After his retirement from Chevron, he continued to work until he settled in Yerington.

He is survived by his sister June Hogan and his children, William Rogers, John Rogers, Lori Rogers McDermeit, Richard Rogers, Robin Rogers Mims, Karen Rogers Andrade, and Donna Rogers Shelley.  He has 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Hank was preceded in death by his wife Marylyn Hemphill Rogers (1999), with whom he spent 42 years in matrimony, and his eldest daughter, Barbara Rogers Ortega (2000).

His funeral service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, May 28, 2022 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 600 North Oregon Street Yerington.  A viewing will be held prior to the service at the church.  He will be buried at the family plot at Rolling Hills Memorial Park in Richmond, California.  Family and friends are invited to sign his online guest book at wqww.FRFH.net
