Vernon Joseph Farias passed away Monday, December 20, 2021 at the age of 87. Vernon was born in Yerington, Nevada to the late Flora Slobig Farias and the late Joseph Farias.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his his wife of 50+ years, Belva Perkins Farias; and his youngest brother, Allen (Pat) Farias.

He is survived by his daughter, Vicki Robinson and husband Dennis of Clover; their two sons, Michael and David Robinson, and their daughter, Megan Tran (Sean), and his great grandson, Connor Tran – and his son, Kenneth W. Farias and wife Robin of Houston, TX, and their daughter, Katherine Farias. He is also survived by his two sisters, Karen Jones of Soledad, CA, and Wendy Rigney of Yerington, NV, and his brother, John (Tommy) Farias and wife Penny of Windsor, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Vernon worked in the mining industry in Nevada, North Carolina, Haiti, Texas, and Bolivia. He finished his working career as owner of CarCare 2000 in Dallas, NC.

He and his wife and children made their home near Long Shoals, NC where he and his wife were members of Bethel Lutheran Church.

Vernon was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed woodworking.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Bethel Lutheran Church Cemetery with Pastor Steven King Officiating.

The family will receive friends after the service.

Face mask and social distancing will be observed.
