Not just my Father In-law, Al Dane 12/7/41-12/15/21 is more to me. I have two Dads: Jim Bagley and Al Dane. No need to console me I’ve been lucky. He wasn’t perfect and neither am I. He was like a Dad.
There is a difference between a father and a Dad.
A father is biological
A Dad is real.
A father says goodbye
A Dad stays nearby.
A father says “NO”
A Dad says “Anytime.”
A father doesn’t care
A Dad is always there.
A father never calls
A Dad always talks.
Always remember the difference between a Father and A Dad.
A father is worth nothing
A Dad is worth millions.
Al I am thankful for the lessons given over spent bullets, dusty trails, cold Buds, and pat on the back. The treasures given of places few visit and the love for nature.
Al is in both these pictures and he always will be there for us at so many places including the heart. I got to thank Al a few days back and I keep remembering back.
Thanks to all the Danes too. “What a cool family, “Al would say”. Then his smile and twinkle in his eye.
Love you guys.
