Yerington NV – April 10, 2026

After 5 days of witnessing difficult testimony and evidence, a 12-person jury deliberated for 3 hours on Friday afternoon, finding Donald Lavern Webb guilty of 1st Degree Murder.
The Honorable Judge John Schlegelmilch presided over the trial, maintaining strict courtroom decorum, instructing the jury, ruling on legal motions, and more.
During the trial, Donald Webb wore eye glasses and a gray suit, sitting next to his Defense Attorney, Christopher Day. Donald would frequently look behind him into the audience to smile at & make eye contact with his daughter & wife.
Deputy District Attorney Brian Haslan presented the state’s case against Donald Webb for killing Joshua Davis on August 8, 2022 in a presumptive landlord/tenant disagreement.
Joshua Davis had moved to Yerington, Nevada several years ago to help care for his ailing paternal grandmother. After she passed away, Josh worked and lived in Mason Valley, moving onto Donald Webb’s property in January of 2022.
Donald Webb and Joshua Davis shook hands on an arrangement for Josh to live on Webb’s property for minimal rent in exchange for driving Webb to medical appointments, caring for the landscaping, etc.
This arrangement turned deadly on August 8, 2022 when Josh entered the front door of Webb’s home, as he’d been previously allowed to do, and Webb shot him twice in the chest, then in the back of each leg as Josh tried to retreat. 8 seconds after walking through the front door, Joshua lay dying on the front porch to where he’d stumbled, mortally wounded.

Joshua Davis’ Mother Tiffany Penn endured 5 days of listening to difficult testimony, audio & video evidence: bearing witness and seeking Justice for Josh.
Sentencing for Donald Webb is scheduled on June 29, 2026 at 1:30pm before the Honorable Judge John Schlegelmilch, 3rd Judicial District Court for the State of Nevada.
