Yerington NV – February 15, 2026
Ronald Dean Rife, June 13,1945-January 26, 2026, passed away at Summerlin Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada with his better half and daughter by his side after a short illness. Ron, or Ronnie as some would call him, graduated from Yerington, NV.

He joined the Air Force but was medically discharged shortly after from a pre-existing medical issue which restricted him from carrying on his dream of being in the Air Force. So once discharged he followed in his father Claude’s footsteps and started driving diesel truck. Ron then started driving in 1975-2000 with Ray Bethers Trucking in Utah when he retired from there he began driving for Horizon Transportation out of Indiana from 2000-2004 hauling camp trailers. He then returned to Ray Bethers Trucking from 2004-2009.
Ronald finally retired and was able to enjoy time traveling with his better half, Sharon; or he’d go over to the local restaurant in their area of Vegas sit and have some coffee & make a new friend. He could make a friend or knew someone in the room from all the years traveling in the diesel no matter where he was.
Ron was proceeded in death by his parents Claude and Ida Rife, his sister Iris Brown, and nephews Joe and Jerry Brown. Many aunts and uncles also preceded him in death.
Ronald is survived by his only child, Kris Rife Hadley of Fallon: Grandson Dyllon Renfroe and Granddaughter Aubrey Renfroe both of Fallon; and his niece Darcy (Peter) O’loughlin of Sparks. He is also survived by the love of his life of 27 years, Sharon Taylor of Las Vegas.
Per his request no services will be held. After cremation he will be buried at the Yerington Cemetery in the Rife family plot.
