Damian Duran Murrell, 34, of Linn, Missouri, passed away on Friday, November 28, 2025, at University Hospital in Columbia.
Damian’s mother, Melanie Davis, grew up in Yerington NV, daughter of Mac and Virginia Mollring. Damian actually lived in Yerington when he was a small child.
Damian was born in Reno, Nevada, on October 11, 1991 to Eric and Melanie (Mollring) Murrell and grew up in Jefferson City, where he attended Jefferson City Schools. Damian worked as a print operator for the Jefferson City News Tribune until becoming disabled in 2024.
Damian was a big kid at heart—goofy, kind, and full of energy. He loved working on cars, cooking, listening to music, and spending time on Xbox Live playing video games with his brothers. He was always there for others and never hesitated to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. Above all, he loved his family deeply and wholeheartedly. He met the love of his life, Shawna Marshall, while working at the News Tribune, and together they built a life filled with joy, laughter, and devotion.
He is survived by his mother, Melanie Davis (Momma), and stepfather, Danny Davis (Peepaw); his wife, Shawna Marshall; his children, Bobby, and twins Jayce and Kinsley; and his stepdaughter, Venus Marshall. He is also survived by his siblings: Destiny Murrell, Harley Murrell (Jordonha), Zachary Murrell (Shapre), Joshua Guinn (Brittany), Kathryne Davis, Breanna Davis, Austin Davis, and Caillou Davis; his grandmother, Rose Hansen; his grandparents, Mac and Virginia Mollring; his godmother, Shaline Montgomery (Todd); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will miss him dearly.

Damian was preceded in death by his father, Eric Murrell, and his daughter, Karlee.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the family for an educational fund for Damian’s children.
Friends will be received at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2025, for a memorial visitation at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors in Jefferson City.
Arrangements are under the direction of HOUSER-MILLARD Funeral Directors, 2613 W. Main St.; Jefferson City, MO 65109. (573) 636-3838. Condolences may be left for the family online at www.millardfamilychapels.com
