Yerington NV – November 19, 2025
A few days ago Yeringtonite Cindy Hitchcock phoned the Pizen Switch Times with this heartwarming and newsworthy story: a group of gentlemen with the T & D Power Company had participated in the Bowl-4-Cure at Rattlesnake Lanes organized to raise money for gas cards for local families who’ve been affected by cancer & need assistance with fuel to travel to out-of-town physicians. Beyond their participation in the Bowl-4-A-Cure, these T & D Power employees (who are honorary Yeringtonites for an entire year or so!) collected a generous gift of $2500 to donate to the cause!
Cindy Hitchcock also wrote that: …”during October 15th – November 15th, that South Lyon Medical Center had a raffle of items that the staff and employees could win, and raised $600.00 for ” Bowl 4 a Cure”. The event night on November 7, with bowling and more raffles raised $1800.00. All monies raised stay here in our community and will help local people to get to go to their appointments for treatments. Thank you to everyone that supported this event. Especially Rattlesnake Lanes for the use of their center.”

Cindy reported that she was so deeply touched by this unexpected gift from the employees at T & D Power…that she was initially at a loss for words. Tears followed.
The following letter accompanied the monetary gift for Bowl-4-A- Cure.
From the Employees of T & D Power:
Here is a little back ground on the men and women that work for T & D Power in your community.
Most of us have worked in the electrical industry for many years. We spend 90% of our time away from our families and loved ones. When we come to these communities, they become our home away from home.
While we are here, we meet people, become part of the community, spend money locally to boost the economy, and so on. Most of us are like gypsies and tow our campers from town to town and make the best of it for as cheap as possible so we can send our money home to our wives, husbands, children and families.
The road can be lonely and unforgiving at times. However, Yerington NV has been a unique community and many of us will be sad to go. It is a very welcoming town and has embraced us as one of their own.
Therefore, the employees as a whole, pull together and participate where we can. Our small donation of $2500 is just a small gift to say, “Thank you, Yerington, for accepting us into your community.”
We also believe by giving when and where we can, that someday, it will come full circle and one of us might be on the receiving end of such a wonderful gift.
Thank you again, Yerington NV; you will never be forgotten…
Yours Truly, Employees of T & D Power

Employees of T & D Power surround Cindy Hitchcock as they donate their generous gift of $2500 to Bowling-4-A-Cure for Cancer.

When you see these T & D employees on Yerington’s Main Street or hitting a strike at Rattlesnake Lanes…let ’em know you appreciate them!
