Reno NV – October 17, 2025
A dynamic team of 5th grade students were chosen from their Yerington Intermediate Class to compete in the Biztank competition in Reno.
The Biztank competition in Reno is a dynamic event aimed at fostering entrepreneurship and innovation within the local community. Drawing inspiration from popular business pitch competitions, Biztank provides a platform for aspiring entrepreneurs to present their ideas to a panel of judges, investors, and business leaders. The competition serves not only as a launchpad for new business ventures but also as a networking hub for professionals and students interested in entrepreneurship.
The hard work of these students paid off with a 1st place win!

What was the team’s presentation about?! Here is a look:

What a great invention for those who may be blind, visually impaired, new language learning, challenged with reading, audio learning, etc.
City of Yerington Interim Manager and Junior Achievement member Jerry Bryant for introduced these students to Junior Achievement and inspired their entrepreneurial spirit! Yerington Intermediate School Principal Scott Gillespie supported this young team and also provided transportation to the competition!
Yerington is very fortunate to have these up-and-coming scholars in our community!
