Honoring History in Lyon, Churchill, and Mineral Counties
Copper Queen ECV 1915 is the proud Chapter of E Clampus Vitus entrusted with building and preserving historical monuments throughout Lyon, Churchill, and Mineral counties. True to our mission, we strive to commemorate the rich tapestry of local history, ensuring that the stories of the past remain vibrant and accessible for future generations.
Our latest endeavor is a collaborative effort with Jeff Page at the Lyon County Museum. Through open communication and shared enthusiasm, we have meticulously planned a new monument to be placed prominently in front of the museum. This monument symbolizes not only our commitment to honoring regional heritage but also the enduring partnership between E Clampus Vitus and the local community.

The construction of the monument is scheduled for Saturday, September 27th, 2025. Our dedicated members and volunteers will gather at the museum to assemble and install the monument, working with care and respect for the history it represents. This event is more than a construction project; it is a celebration of community spirit, collective memory, and the enduring legacy of those who shaped our counties.
The official dedication ceremony will take place the following day, Sunday, September 28th, 2025 at 10:00 am. We invite all members, friends, locals, and history enthusiasts to join us for this special occasion. The dedication will include a brief address highlighting the significance of the monument, acknowledgments of those who contributed to the project, and a ceremonial unveiling.
By placing this monument at the Lyon County Museum, we aim to create a lasting landmark that educates visitors and inspires pride in our shared past. It stands as a testament to the pioneers, families and communities whose endeavors and sacrifices built the foundation of Lyon, Churchill and Mineral counties.
E Clampus Vitus, Copper Queen ECV 1915, remains dedicated to our motto: “Credo Quia Absurdum” — finding meaning in the overlooked moments of history, preserving them with respect and a sense of spirited camaraderie.
Join us as we honor the past, celebrate the present, and look forward to the stories yet to be told.
Mark Wilson President of Copper Queen ECV 1915
