Obituary for Donna Brinkley: April 19, 1939 to June 7, 2025

Donna Gaye Brinkley (née Kennedy), born on April 19,1939, in Bakersfield, California, passed away peacefully at home with her family on June 7, 2025, in Yerington, Nevada. She was 86.

Donna’s life was one of warmth, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family, friends and community. She shared a beautiful life of 70 years with her beloved husband, Chuck Brinkley. Together they created a home filled with love and laughter, raising two sons, Bill Brinkley and Kevin Brinkley. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren- Billy Brinkley, Bridgett Taliaferro (née Brinkley), Arianna Brinkley, Jordyn Brinkley, and Rebecca Brinkley- and great-grandchildren Joshua Brinkley, Makenna Brinkley, Skylar Brinkley, and soon-to-be Swazey Taliaferro.

Donna was preceded in death by her grandson Randall Brinkley; her sister Diana Lillard (née Kennedy); brothers Leroy Kennedy and Dennis Kennedy; and her parents Dora and George Kennedy.

Donna had a deep love for the simple joys of life. She especially treasured taking trips around the valley with Chuck by her side. In her slightly younger years her commitment to service was evident in the many hours she devoted as a volunteer at the county library- where she received an honorable award recognizing her time and generosity- and at the local thrift store where she found joy working alongside friends while giving back to the community. Donna also developed long-lasting friendships during the years she spent at First Interstate Bank. A talented crocheter, Donna lovingly crafted blankets for those close to her-a tangible expression of the care she poured into every relationship. She was also an avid bell collector, delighting in each unique addition to her collection

Donna’s home was always open to others. She welcomed everyone with open arms and made them feel like family. Her cooking brought people together around the table, but it was her radiant spirit-especially her contagious and beautiful laugh- that left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. May it bring comfort to remember the joy she brought into so many lives.

A celebration of Life will be held on July 19, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at The Vineyard Church 307 Broadway Avenue, Yerington.  Family and friends are invited to sign her online guest book at www.FRFH.net
