The joint was jumpin’…the 6D Speakeasy, that is, on Saturday night, August 3rd, 2024 at the Yerington Theatre for the Arts/ Jeanne Dini Cultural Center in Yerington, Nevada.
Cathe Farreto greeted guests as they entered the Jeanne Dini Cultural Center and ushered them into the 6D Speakeasy for food & drink before the performance began in the theatre. Cathe spearheaded the Through A Child’s Eyes Foundation in 2007; and with the collaboration of donors, supporters, a Board of Directors, and staff the Foundation has grown to be inclusive of the Mason Valley community and beyond.
Classical Concert Pianist Devon Shifflet visited with attendees before his performance. Here’s Devon checking in with Mari Koop:
True to it’s motto, “If we could see the world through a child’s eyes, we would see the magic in everything,” the Through A Child’s Eyes Foundation hosted an event to be remembered filled with the magic of food, drink, community, song and concertos.
When the audience was seated in the cool & comfortable theatre (accommodations courtesy of the Yerington Theatre for the Arts) the program began with 3 songs from the Mason Valley Singers Community Choir directed by Karen Pedersen. Local Nathan Johnson composed and directed the performance of “I Sail The Earth”.
Local Photographer Linda Dunger shared the following pictures of Devon Shifflet’s performance (Thank you, Linda!):
