Obituary: Thomas “Tom” Holt Roach ~ March 25,1952 to May 25, 2024

Thomas (Tom) Holt Roach passed away at home in Yerington, Nevada on May 25th, 2024 after losing his battle with stage four cancer.  He was 72.

Tom was born on March 25th, 1952 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He was adopted at the age of seven to Thomas and Margaret Roach. He then spent his childhood with his new family in Tarzana, California. Tom graduated high school and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1970 where he proudly served in the Vietnam War until 1972.

After serving, he became a professional residential and commercial painter. In 1978 he married Elizabeth Cochran (Roach) and started their family. They then moved to Yerington in 1992 where he continued his career as a painter. Later in his life he spent most of his time in the community walking around Yerington collecting miscellaneous items he found interesting, watching old western movies & football, and playing at the local casinos, Pioneer and Dotty’s.

He is survived by his siblings: Richard (Carolynn), Kevin (Ingrid), Kathleen (Roy). His children: Brian, April (Marcos), Lisa (Dave), Shane (Amber), Rachel (O’Brian). His grandchildren: Ruby (Ryan), Juliann (Lui), Braden (Ona), he had nine more grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.

A graveside service with military honors will be held 11:00 am Saturday, June 15, 2024 at the Valley View Cemetery, Veterans Section, 1 Cemetery Road Yerington
