Candida LoBue: 1951 to 2024 ~Celebration of Life on May 3, 2024 at Holy Family Church

Rotary Club of Yerington, Nevada wrote: “Please join us and PEO (Philanthropic Educational Organization) in celebrating the life of one of our members, Candida LoBue, tomorrow, Friday, May 3.”

Candida Lucia LoBue was born to Rita and Anthony LoBue on December 13, 1951. Anthony was a Los Banos farmer, raising cotton, cantalope, and tomatoes. Candy’s brother, Peter followed in his father’s footsteps and Candy managed the business side of the family farm.

Candy attended Notre Dame High School in Belmont, CA. She then studied accounting and business at Santa Clara University.

Candy spent several years working in a large Bay Area accounting firm, gaining expertise in audit, taxes, and corporate accounting. In 1988, when she was CFO of the LoBue Family farm operation, Candy was chosen to participate in the prestigious California Ag Leadership program.

After the passing of her parents, Candy moved to Arizona to manage the accounting department of a resort owned by a cousin. From Arizona, she moved to Yerington.

Candy moved to Yerington in 2014 to take a position as Controller for Snyder Livestock Company. She embraced life in Yerington, becoming a member of Rotary, PEO, and ICF. She was active in the Holy Family Catholic Church, serving on the church finance committee.

Candida LoBue became very close to the Snyder family. For 10 years, she was at the helm of Snyder’s financial management team. She joined family members at holiday dinners, family vacations, and many of their recreational activities. If cooking was part of the activity, Candy could not help but be in the kitchen.

Candy passed away on March 5, 2024.

A celebration of life for Candy LoBue will be held on Friday, May 3, at the Holy Family Catholic Church. A rosary at 3:15 will be followed by mass at 4:00 PM. A reception will be held immediately after mass at the Catholic Church hall.
