After a few years on the corner of Bridge & West where the Yerington Food Pantry YFP was originally located due to the generous site donation from Ace Hardware’s Cher Giomi, the YFP has RELOCATED TO 502 W. BRIDGE STREET near Cramer’s Towing.
The Winter of 2022/2023 has been a much-needed water shed year for precipitation in the Walker River Basin. But this same precipitation has wrought havoc on the roofing integrity of many older buildings in the Mason Valley community including the original site for the Yerington Food Pantry.
Healthy Community volunteers have been seeking a more permanent site for the YFP for the last year and a half and wrote: “Thanks to the Yerington City Council and all the generous organizations and everyday citizens who donated time and money to make this happen, the Yerington Food Pantry will now be able to resume its many functions in addition to food distribution. Like other HCC food pantries, this one also serves as a hub for many community health services.”
