03/22/2022: The Optimist Club of Reno, Nevada, established in 1940, presented Kutoven Stevens of Mason Valley with the Extraordinary Youth Leadership Award “for making an incredible impact on society, for your deep empathy for people, past and present, for establishing an annual Remembrance Run that ensures we do not forget, and for inspiring youth across nations to follow your lead. You run for all of us. ”
Misty Stevens wrote, “Ku was the inspirational speaker at the Optimist Club tonight, a wonderful organization that is doing great things for kids in the Reno community. Thank you to President Dee Frewert for inviting us all to dinner. We had a lovely evening. Ku was presented with a beautiful plaque for Extraordinary Youth Leadership, for hosting the Remembrance Run. They showed the Remaining Native movie trailer, and I was so proud of the fantastic work of my friends Paige Bethman, Shai Ben-Dor and Zack Kiszka.”
