The Golden Gate Truck Stop on the corner of West Goldfield and Highway 95A North (1001 Goldfield Avenue) in Yerington was open for business on Friday, December 31st, 2021.
But then on Saturday, January 1st, 2022 the new business was closed with orange cones once again lining the drive ways.
Local resident, La Lionne Au, spoke with Golden Gate Truck Stop Manager Tiffani on January 3rd. Tiffani reported that they should be open for business on January 4th. (The primary reason for the opening on 12/31/2021 followed by closure on 01/01/2022 was due to a City of Yerington permitting issue which has now been resolved.)
Yerington has needed a truck stop to serve the vastly-increased truck traffic. The Golden Gate will also provide truck parking for the drivers who need a break from the road. There are 14 fueling stations for automobiles and a separate diesel island with high speed pumps.
A Krispy Krunchy Chicken franchise is included in the business.
The Chevron (formerly Texaco) Station across the street from the new truck stop should continue to do well in business. They have served the Yerington Community since the 1970s and offer friendly service and great deals on dairy products and more.
The Goldfield “Corridor” has become lined with businesses catering to locals and to travelers passing through on a major route between Reno and Las Vegas.
