“What a way to end the year. I knew what it was when I saw very white trees without having snow on the ground. ‘POGONIP’: I looked it up and found a Wikipedia entry note that pogonip forms only under special conditions: ‘The humidity has to be near 100% as the air temperature drops to well below 32 degrees allowing ice crystals to form in the air. The ice crystals will then settle onto surfaces.’ And it sure did that!”
