“The Museum is the end result of Yerington’s 9-day Bicentennial Celebration in 1976. Funds accumulated during the celebration were dedicated to the formation of a museum. Subsequently the (Seventh Day Adventist) church building at 215 South Main Street and the adjacent lot were acquired for museum purposes.” ~ Museum brochure.
The Museum is open for viewing and tours on Fridays and Saturdays from 1-4pm when volunteer docents are available. (Volunteers are gratefully welcome!)

Hi Leah,
Even though I have been to the museum often over the years, even volunteering with Alvin Matheus and giving tours, I loved the online crisp, clear photos that you showed on The Pizenswitchtimes.com for the December 20,2021 issue. It is a very special presentation of our local museum! Thanks Again.
June Matheus, long time 60 year Yerington Resident.
