Press Release issued by Lyon County on July 29th, 2021 at 6:46pm:
Masks Required in County Buildings
July 27, 2021, the CDC reversed course on its mask guidance, and the Governor’s Office issued a corresponding directive adopting it. Under the latest guidance, counties experiencing higher transmission (Lyon County meets the threshold) must require people, including those who are fully vaccinated, to wear masks in “indoor public settings.” Lyon County is interpreting this to mean public areas within our buildings, such as lobbies, hallways, and restrooms.
Lyon County understands most employees and members of the public do not like wearing cloth on their faces. “Masking up” is one of the many pandemic-related practices that are decidedly not ideal in normal times. However, for several reasons, Lyon County must be mindful of our obligations to comply with State-mandated workplace safety rules, and we would ask that everyone please do their part.
